Tri City Auto Repair
I had a $500.00+ brake job done in June 2023. Two month later, while driving to the VA Medical Center in Wyoming, Michigan, my suv started vibrating as did the steering wheel. Thinking since I just had a full brake job done at Tri City Auto in Spring Lake, Michigan two months ago, it could not be the brakes it must be wheel balancing or something else? When I got to the VA Medical center I got out to look at the left front tire and say smoke coming out from the braking area. After leaving, I found a GM dealership a few miles away and took my suv there for repair. I had to leave it overnight as they were booked and had to rent a car to drive my wife and I home. The next day the dealership found that the right front calipers had froze up causing the left brakes to overwork and smoke. They put in new calipers and whatever else to fix the problem for another $500. When I came back and explained what had happened to Tri City Repair, after talking to the owner, the office people said since their mechanic had not replaced the calipers and I did not have the suv towed back to them before I got it repaired again that there was no warranty and nothing they could do even though they had done a complete front brake job two months prior. I guess if I had drove the suv to California they would have said I should have had it towed back to them in Michigan to have repairs done? Totally ridiculous. I guess the moral of the story is if you get a brake job done at Tri City Auto and two month later, the brakes go out, don’t expect them to stand behind their work. I will never go there again. Never!
It's always sad when people throw their morals out the window over money and personal mistakes. We're a NAPA car care center, so we can offer our customers a 3 yr 36k mile warranty, nationwide. You know that and you could have called or taken it to any Napa car care center near you. You also know the part that failed was not a part we replaced, however we or any other Napa car care center could have saved you money by warranting the damaged brake rotors as a courtesy. You made up the phrase "Full brake job" to make yourself sound like a victim when you know we provided you with a digital inspection that had pictures and notes as well as an estimate that contained the details of the work and parts. When someone thinks they have a warranty and can't get back to the shop it was done at, they call or try to bring old parts back. You did neither. I am always hopeful to resolve and restore the relationship with our customers, but you dishonor customers with a legitimate claim and you dishonor the men and women in uniform over money. (This I take a great deal of offense with , because my family is full of veterans that take honesty person) Where is your honor? I noticed when reading this review, at no time did you express any responsibility for knowing what work was done or your options for getting warranty work done, instead you crafted a story to look like a victim. I think you owe my staff an apology and a better rating. If you think people can’t see your dishonesty in the review you wrote you’re kidding yourself. Sincerely Jim.
